Finalllly finished this painting for Illusionism (final project). This is a lot like my sunset piece from my cel-shaded trilogy, seeing at it also focuses on Shane and his fishies (though no bird this time, boo).

School's coming to an end and I wasn't able to snag any of the few internships available in the area, so I'll be heading home for the summer. Since I'm selling at Otakon this year, I'll be spending my time drawing a lot more fanart to sell... Anyhow. If there's any fandom you guys want to suggest I watch/read/draw for, I'm all open ears. Thanks!

I really love the atmosphere you've created here. I didn't find this deviation because it was a daily deviation, but I do think it's very well deserved! It's great that you've taken the time to fill in so many details, there are so many fish there, big, small, in the foreground, in the background. In fact, the longer I looked at this painting the more beautiful it became in my eyes. The expression on the man's face looks believable aswell, and it may sound dorky, but I'm very happy to see anime but WITH an actual nose. Ok but seriously, I love this.

Oh, haha, I totally get what you mean. I'm glad the anime without being too unbelievably anime aspect of this came out well. Thank you so much for your detailed comment; all the parts you point out definitely help me keep in mind what I need to aspire to in my future pieces! It always makes me happy when I know people are spending more than 10 seconds looking at my paintings, haha. So thank you!

Yes, especially on dA when there's so much to look at it's so tempting to just skim over pieces. However in my opinion it robs you of the full enjoyment of a piece!

I'm happy you appreciate the time I've put in commenting. I think we all should spend a little time doing that and encouraging others.
